Slovaks allowed to work in France

From July 1st, Slovaks and citizens of Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland will be able to work in France. Britain and Ireland one or two other EU countries allowed workers from the new EU countries to work from day 1 but several of the other countries said "non" or somesuch other word. Bulgaria and Romania still don't have free access and Austria, Belgium, Denmark and Germany still have barriers against workers from some other EU countries.
It will be interesting to see how well the French cope if there is a large influx. The UK has never recovered from the massive influx of workers, the numbers of which were far higher than the government ever envisaged, or if one is to be cynical far higher than the government led British people to believe. By and large, the influx hasn't created too much social tension except where there is a housing shortage but there have been problems in schools where children who don't speak English have struggled. For years, UK governments followed a policy of "multi-culturalism" which has been an out and out disaster the results of which will be felt for generations. The French are different from the British and tend to go the barricades, so to speak, far more readily than the traditionally much more tolerant British people.
